PURPOSE: A middle-span connecting closure for optical cables and a method for installing the middle-span connecting closure for the optical cables are provided to connect optical fiber of noble optical cables with optical fiber of spare optical fiber groups.;CONSTITUTION: A middle-span connecting closure for optical cables includes a body(100), sealing gaskets(140a, 140b), a cover(200), and a remaining length unit(300). Cable introducing parts are formed in the body, and a cable guiding unit is formed on the base of the body to protect the first optical fiber group of optical cables. The sealing gaskets surround the optical cable or noble optical cables and prevent the introduction of foreign materials by being arranged at the cable introducing parts. The cover is combined with one side of the body based on a hinge unit(230). The remaining length unit is in connection with the second optical fiber group of the optical cable and the optical fiber of the noble optical cables by being arranged at the external side of the cable guiding unit.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
