PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for providing obstacle information for an autonomous mobile vehicle are provided to support the autonomous movement of the vehicle by verifying the kinds of obstacles on the driving path of the vehicle.;CONSTITUTION: A laser distance sensor(211) detects obstacles located at the front side of an autonomous mobile vehicle by being installed at the front center of the vehicle. A sensor driving unit(213) drives the laser distance sensor at high angles. A controller(212) controls the driving of the sensor driving unit. A plurality of radars(220) detects the obstacles by being installed at the front lower side of the vehicle.
