PURPOSE: A method for electronic ticket service using an encoded image and unique information and a system thereof are provided to electronically process the encoding and authentication function of a portable terminal, thereby enhancing convenience. CONSTITUTION: A variety of electronic ticket information is generated and stored in images(102). A portable terminal with the location based service function locates the current area and checks whether the terminal has a usable electronic ticket in the area(103). Whether a usable ticket of the electronic ticket images on a portable terminal A generated image is activated by multi encoding process(104). The image is displayed on an image display unit of the portable terminal(106).
