PURPOSE: A steel type prediction method for continuous casting of mixed steel type is provided to reduce the costs for processing mixed steel scrap by variably controlling the position for cutting strand.;CONSTITUTION: A steel type prediction method for continuous casting of mixed steel type is as follows. The molten metal level(L) of a tundish and the discharge amount(T) of a mold are set(S10). The discharge amounts(A1,A2,p) of molds according to changes in the molten metal level of the tundish are calculated from the set L and T(S20). The molten metal level(X0) according to changes in the discharge amount of the mold is calculated from the set L and T(S30). The component concentration of molten metal according to the molten metal level of the tundish and the discharge amount of the mold is calculated from the calculated discharge amounts of molds and the molten metal level of the tundish(S40). The obtained component concentration is compared with the set minimum and maximum available values in order to predict steel type or mixed band(S50).;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
