PURPOSE: A polarization beam splitter based on a self-collimating photonic crystal, a polarization beam splitter slab including the same, and an orthogonal polarization method of a light wave using the same are provided to increase light wave transmittance by providing an anti-reflection film which is able to be applied to both TE(Transverse Electric) and TM(Transverse Magnetic) modes. CONSTITUTION: A beam splitter comprises a dielectric layer(110) and a splitter part(120). The splitter part arranges air holes or rods in the dielectric layer in a two-dimensional lattice shape with the same interval. The splitter part comprises a light input end(123), a TE(Transverse Electric) channel light output end(124), a TM(Transverse Magnetic) channel light output end(125), a polarized beam separation structure part(122), and a self- collimating photonic crystal part(121). The light input end located in one end part of the splitter part receives light waves. A TE channel light output end located in the other end part of the splitter part emits the light waves inputted through the light input end. The polarized beam separation structure part includes a plurality of air hole rows in a diagonal direction with respect to the boundary surface of the light input end. The self-collimating photonic crystal part set a self-collimating frequency with a frequency range less than a wood anomaly point for a plurality of air holes in the outer region of the polarized beam separation structure part.
