Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for tracking and managing patient care in medical clinics. Features of such systems include that they can create on-the-fly condition based networks for patients and doctors, or provide on-the-fly, condition-based communication facilities for patients and doctors, that they can provide such networks and facilities for patients or doctors of multiple clinics, or provide communication facilities for information and services from outside clinics to doctors and patients, or provide decision support including comparative lifetime costs of multiple treatment options, or support a temporary assignment of personal table computer devices to patients during their visits to clinics, and the use of the devices to communicate with patients at the clinic.
