[Problem] To provide a book information provision system, and the like, which enable reliable and effective provision of additional information in the form of text data to digital books of different data formats. [Solution] A digital book terminal (10) equipped with: a characteristic quantity calculation unit (101) that calculates a characteristic quantity from a continuous image of two or more pages within image data of a digitalized book; a characteristic quantity transmission unit (102) that transmits the calculated characteristic quantity to a digital book information server; and a digital book storage unit (103) that receives additional digital book information from the digital book information server. The digital book information server (30) is equipped with: an external storage means (34) that pre-stores book characteristic quantity data (211) and additional book information data (212); a book characteristic quantity search unit (201) that searches for the book identifier corresponding to the received characteristic quantity from the book characteristic quantity data; and an additional book information search unit (202) that searches for the additional digital book information corresponding to the book identifier from the additional book information data, and sends a response to the digital book terminal.
