Device for positioning and holding a skin having a fibrous structure and assembly flanges of profiled elements having a fibrous structure, with a view to assembling said skin and assembly flanges by stitching. This device comprises a support table (11) provided with an upper face suitable for receiving the skin in its deployed state and, for each profiled element, a recess (12) made in the upper face of said support table and equipped with members for gripping the free longitudinal edges of the assembly flanges, and with support members (18, 19) suitable for ensuring that said assembly flanges is held in a deployed state in which it extends substantially in the plane of the upper face of the support table (1).
