The purpose of the present invention is to facilitate improved recognition when a person with a cochlear implant hears music or other sounds. MIDI data of a musical composition from a sound source device (12) is processed with a music information processing device main body (14). First, the main melody is extracted, scales and intervals are analyzed, and a scale set, comprising scale sequences and interval sequences, is derived. The scale set is transposed to a scale set that will stimulate more different electrodes while retaining the intervals of the original composition, in order that the person with the cochlear implant will be able to recognize the melody of the music. A speaker (26) is driven by an audio signal generator (24), thus providing the music to a cochlear implant device (30).
