Control unit for a self-defense container (4) with an activation button (42) and a nozzle (44) and further comprising a light source (5), a battery source (6), a sheath (3) with a lower part for association with the container (4) and an upper part for receiving a housing (1) of the light source (5) and a cover (2) of the button characterized in that the cover (2) has a part of coupling and a free part, the cover (2) being rotatably mounted in the housing, the battery source (6) being connected to the light source (5) through a switch controlled by the rotational movement of the cover (2), said cover including an inner compartment (20) for receiving a battery source (6) and in its closed position, being located in a plane substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the container (4), while its free end is compressed against a passage (32) in the case (3) for access to l button (42) of the container (4).
