The invention relates to the field of inorganic chemistry. A method for single crystals growing of solid solutions of copper chloride-bromide pentathiophosphate CuPS(BrI) by chemical transport reactions includes stepped heating the vacuumized quartz ampoules containing the initial components in the prescribed stoichiometric ratio, to the maximum temperature and holding them at the same temperature within 24 hours and further growth of single crystals. Basic: copper, phosphorus and sulfur and binary: copper bromide CuBr and copper iodide CuI are used as initial components for synthesis, at that the maximum synthesis temperature is 943 ± 5 K, and the growing is carried out with the use of stoichiometric mixture of CuBr / CuI as transporting agent at the rate of 20 mg/smof vial free volume. The use of the invention allows to simplify the method.
