摘要

Using fetal middle cerebral artery peak systolic velocity (MCA-PSV) is now an established method of non invasive diagnosis of moderate to severe fetal anemias of different origins. Normal values of gestational age specific MCA-PSV have been published from different parts of the world. To the best of our knowledge no such Indian study has been published before. As with other population based parameters, a parameter may have different values in normal healthy individuals from one geographic location to the other. Hence it is necessary to have standard local reference range of normal individuals specific to each geographic locality. Fetal MCA-PSV was measured in a large sample of normal 1015 pregnant women at least once between 12 and 40 weeks of gestation. The values were measured by a single experienced radiologist on a color Doppler ultrasound machine and tabulated accordingly.
