ISOLATED NUCLEIC ACID MOLECULE, AMPLICON, PAIR OF POLYNUCLEOTYTE INITIATORS, METHOD AND KIT FOR DETECTION, TRANSGENIC CORN PLANT, CORN SEED, BIOLOGICAL SAMPLE, EXTRACT, METHOD OF PLANT PRODUCTION AND PLANT PRODUCTION HYBRID SEED, ISOLATED INSECTICIDE PROTEIN, VECTOR, TRANSGENIC HOSTING CELL, TARGET SITE, METHOD FOR MAKING A TRANSGENIC CORN PLANT. A new transgenic corn called the MIR162 event is exposed. The invention relates to nucleic acids that are unique to the MIR162 event and the methods for detecting the presence of MIR162 events based on DNA sequences of the planned recombinants inserted within the corn genome that resulted in the MIR162 enentum, and the genomic sequences pairing the site of insertion. The invention also relates to corn plants encompassing the transgenic genotype of MIR162 and to methods for producing a corn plant by crossing with a corn plant containing the MIR162 genotype with itself or with another variety of corn. Corn plant seeds containing the MIR162 genotype are also objects of the present invention. The invention also reports on insect control methods using MIR162 corn plants.
