PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous membrane and an electrode for a nonaqueous electrolytic- solution secondary battery, by which a safer and low-cost nonaqueous electrolytic-solution second battery can be fabricated, and to provide a safer and low-cost nonaqueous electrolytic- solution second battery. SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of the electrode for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises a process to form an electrode plate which is either a positive electrode or a negative electrode for the non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery and a process to provide the porous membrane to obtain the electrode plate having the porous membrane on the surface, including a process to form the porous membrane made from a polymer material. In this case, the process to provide the porous membrane includes a step of combining a predetermined substituent which is different from radicals included in the polymer material with carbon atoms of a main chain of the polymer material via two or more continuous carbon atoms in the predetermined substituent, after the forming process of the porous membrane, and a step to modify at least a part of the porous membrane.
