PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To alleviate a change in an appearance of a display image which is effected by an illumination light environment.;SOLUTION: An imaging device 20 to image a subject at a side of display surface is provided on a back surface of an image display section 10 having a plurality of rows of pixels including display elements. The imaging device 20 is used as a light detection section for measuring a distribution of illumination light on a display surface of the image display section 10. A light diffusion sheet 68 is placed on the display surface of the image display section 10 and a condensation section 21 such as a fisheye lens is positioned in a space between the back surface of the image display section 10 and the imaging device 20. An illumination light distribution correction section 300 corrects display data in a manner that reduces an effect of illumination light on a display image which is viewed based on information on an illumination light distribution obtained through the imaging device 20 with a focus thereof on the light diffusion sheet 68 in a non-display period.
