PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and accurate method for marking-identifying fishery fishes and shellfishes, especially, fishery fishes and shellfishes derived from a specific production area, excellent fishery seeds and seedlings having one or plural excellent characters, or fishery fishes and shellfishes of a specific kind. PSOLUTION: There are provided a method for tracing the production history of a fishery fish or shellfish of an individual or a group of individuals, or a part or manufactured goods thereof by using a base sequence of mitocondria DNA D-loop, and a method for determining a marker gene usable for such a method.
