PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forced molting agent sufficiently atrophying an ovary/an oviduct and inducing molting by stopping egg laying and gradually reducing body weight while supplying a feed and thereby ensuring a sufficient pause period, to provide a feed for forced molting and to provide a method for rearing a laying hen. PSOLUTION: The forced molting agent is characterized as comprising piperine as an active ingredient. It is found that the sufficient pause period can be given to sufficiently atrophy the ovary/oviduct and induce the molting because the egg laying can be stopped and the body weight can gradually be reduced while supplying the feed when the piperine is supplied.
