PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To experimentally determine calculation parameters which could not be experimentally determined before, to determine a radioactivity absolute value from an experimentation result, and to improve uncertainty of measurement of the radioactivity absolute value and also to improve uncertainty of calibration of a radioactivity measuring device by excluding fitting of apparent radioactivity.;SOLUTION: In a radioactivity measuring method by liquid scintillation in which nuclear species to be measured and a liquid scintillator are mixed to create a radiation source 10, which is measured by three optical detectors (photoelectron multipliers 20, 30 and 40), an evaluation index RD indicative of a matching property between a theoretical calculation value and an experimental counting value is set on a plane on which one axis is assigned to counting efficiency or counting rates and the other axis is assigned to TDCR values (counting efficiency or counting rate, TDCR value), and a parameter (kB value) and a radioactivity absolute value A, indicating a degree of quenching, which minimize a difference between the theoretical calculation value and experimental counting value are determined through repetitive calculation using the evaluation index RD.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
