PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for saving labor and time required for measuring and inputting an amount of claw abrasion loss.;SOLUTION: A roll gap measuring device for a continuous casting facility includes a nipping type sensor mounted on a dummy bar of a continuous casting facility and comprises a new claw locus storing means, an abraded claw locus storing means, a claw abrasion correction value computing means and a measured roll gap value outputting means. The new claw locus storing means stores the locus of a measured roll gap value measured with a new claw at the first time of measurement together with operating conditions. The abraded claw locus storing means stores the locus of measured roll gap values measured at the second and subsequent times of measurement without changing the claw under the same operating conditions as that at the first time of measurement. The claw abrasion correction value computing means corrects the stored locus so as to make it similar to the locus of the measured roll gap values stored by the new claw locus storing means and obtain the claw abrasion correction value from the difference between the minimum values before and after the correction of the measured roll gap values stored by the abraded claw locus storing means.
