PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exactly measure a temperature of a base isolation device.SOLUTION: In the base isolation device 10, a measuring steel plate 110 is not deformed even if both ends of a laminate 100 in the lamination direction are relatively displaced in a direction perpendicular to the lamination direction. By this arrangement, a force is not applied to a temperature sensor 114 which is inserted into a measuring hole 112 formed at the measuring steel plate 110, and the force is small even if applied thereto, thereby the come-off and wire breakage of the temperature sensor 114 are prevented or suppressed. Furthermore, there is arranged the measuring steel plate 110 which divides a plug 140, so that the measurement of a temperature of the center of the plug 140 becomes possible. Accordingly, a rise of the temperature of the plug 140 caused by an effect that the laminate 100 is shear-deformed and the plug 140 is plastically deformed can exactly be measured.
