PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multistage relay network capable of performing communication by originating beacons, avoiding wasted consumption of a battery prior to operation start, and enabling a reliable wireless communication, and to provide a multistage relay type wireless telemeter system, and a wireless slave unit for use in the same.SOLUTION: In response to that a wireless slave unit (a sub) 104 is powered on and becomes in an operable state, the sub 104 starts communication with a microcomputer meter (a meter) 105 connected to itself with a meter start-up message or a meter-reading message or the like. In response to that there is a reply (a response message) from the meter 105, the sub 104 firstly transmits beacons to the other wireless slave unit and a wireless master unit. In the case that there is no reply from the meter 105, beacons are not transmitted. After the beacon is transmitted once, the beacons are continuously transmitted periodically. Since beacons are not transmitted immediately after installation, wasted battery consumption is eliminated, and more reliable wireless communication can be performed.
