PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure or estimate an occurrence position of thunder for over a wide range of areas.;SOLUTION: A thunder occurrence position measurement system 1 is constituted of: thunder radiation observation devices 110; and a thunder occurrence position orientation device 10. The plurality of thunder radiation observation devices 110 are arranged in observation target areas of the thunder, and transmit observation data including a time series of elevation angles and azimuthal angles showing the directions of an occurrence position the thunder, time of the time series, position information on an observation point, and identification information for identifying a transmission source to the thunder occurrence position orientation device 10. The thunder occurrence position orientation device 10 receives the observation data, determines whether or not intervals of time of the time series of the elevation angles are similar to values of the elevation angles between time series of the elevation angles with different pieces of identification information, and orients the occurrence position of the thunder by using two or more pieces of observation data with difference pieces of identification information determined to be similar to each other.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
