PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting-type communication apparatus capable of securely communicating with master equipment with sufficient omnidirectional light reception and emission from/to every direction of the periphery of a user.SOLUTION: On a neck band 2, there are provided light reception/emission units 4a, 4b, 4c, and 4d each having a light receiving device 43 for receiving optical signals from an externally installed transceiver apparatus S and a light emitting device 44 for transmitting optical signals to the transceiver apparatus. A voice input/output unit 3, having a voice input unit for receiving voice inputs from the user and a voice output unit for outputting an externally received voice, is connected to the neck band 2. The plurality of light reception/emission units are mutually disposed at intervals so that the light reception and emission devices of one light reception/emission unit have overlaid areas of light reception and emission with the light reception and emission devices of another neighboring light reception/emission unit. The neck band is mounted in the oblique direction to the user body, and when it is mounted, the light reception and emission devices are directed to obliquely upward relative to the horizontal plane.
