PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that metal nanoparticles are easily oxidized in a short time and unstable even the surfaces thereof are coated using various methods, and especially the coated materials are separated in water and oxidation proceeds gradually from the surface in synthesis in water under a reductive atmosphere in a conventional synthesis method of metal nanoparticles.;SOLUTION: Metal or alloy nanoparticles, the surfaces of the generated nanoparticles being metallic, are obtained by performing a hydrothermal reduction process in subcritical or supercritical water under high temperature and high pressure conditions in the presence of an appropriate reducing agent. Thus, for example, cobalt nanoparticles of which the characteristics are excellent and the use in a wide range of areas, such as catalysts, memory materials, light-emitting materials, and optoelectronics, are anticipated can be inexpensively and stably produced by using a simple method.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
