Hard material drilling tool, has cylindrical drill provided with central channel extending along central channel axis, and central channel carrying liquid lubrication under pressure provided by machine tool
The tool has a tool body (2) rotated simultaneously by a machine tool around a tool body axis at an ultrasonic frequency, where the tool body carries a cylindrical drill (3) covered with abrasive grains. The cylindrical drill is provided with a central channel extending along central channel axis. An opening is formed on a free end of the cylindrical drill. The central channel carries liquid lubrication under pressure provided by the machine tool. A face interior of the central channel is striped by helicoid stripes. An independent claim is also included for a method for drilling a hard material.
