Electric equipment i.e. mechatronic controller, testing method for determining failure probability of electric equipment in e.g. car, involves determining failure probability from specific relationship comprising life duration
The method involves placing an electric equipment to be tested on a test bench, where the test bench has a generator for generating disturbances, and a detector for detecting failure of the electric equipment. A failure probability is determined from a specific relationship comprising a resistance rule that provides percentage of parts at a failure limit according to the number of failures, a constraint rule that indicates the probability of occurrence of failures during predetermined life duration and predetermined life duration. An independent claim is also included for a test bench comprising a detector.
