The cored yarn comprises an outer steel casing containing filling elements (10-30 wt.%) based of iron powder, 0.001-0.05 wt.% of carbon, 0.1-0.3 wt.% of silicon, 0.7-1.7 wt.% of manganese and 0.15-1.15 wt.% of chromium. The casing is made of carbon-manganese steel in which the content of carbon is 0.01-0.09 wt.% and manganese is 0.1-0.5 wt.%. Independent claims are included for: (1) a process for electric arc welding, submerged arc welding under solid flux or tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding; and (2) a welded joint.
