The method involves constructing covariance matrices of temporal series of a signal received by radar by a construction module (41). A matrix is estimated using a calculation module (42) by anisotropic diffusion of another set of matrices on a graph, where the matrix provides estimation of Doppler spectrum of an atmosphere by anisotropic diffusion of the covariance matrices on the graph. The estimated matrix is compared by a comparison module (43) with the current covariance matrix corresponding to the received signal.
