摘要

The device (1) has pulse wave sensors (3, 3') positioned at an end of a finger (32) of a hand and a toe (31) of a foot of a subject, respectively. A processing and calculation unit (5) e.g. microprocessor, calculates a propagation speed of a pulse wave from a duration between beginning of the pulse wave from a heart (6) and arrival of the pulse wave at an end of the finger and the toe and a transit distance of the pulse wave from size (H) of the subject. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for measuring propagation speed of a blood pressure wave of a subject (2) a method for measuring an index for evaluating a cardiovascular risk of a subject.
