The winder (1) has a reeling drum (10) forming a primary roller nip (NP) with rolled-up machine reels (6). A secondary nip roller (18) forms a secondary roller nip (NS) with the rolled-up machine reels. The reeling drum and the secondary nip roller are provided with a hard surface and a soft surface (181). Different surfaces are formed between the primary roller nip and the secondary roller nip. A radial counter bore of the secondary nip roller in the machine reels is smaller than the radial counter bore of the reeling drum during the linear contact pressure. An independent claim is also included for a method for continuously rolling a fiber web around a drum to produce machine reels.
