The method involves determining multiple measuring points for each distance from an object to a center of a laser scanner using a control and evaluation device. The measuring points at multiple pixels (P0, P1, P2) are displayed on a display device for which the measuring points for each pixel of a plane (E) and distances to the plane are assigned to respective depths (z0-z2). Selected pixels and adjacent pixels with lower depth are searched, where the selected pixels are filled depending on values of the adjacent pixels and depths. An independent claim is also included for a device for optical scanning and measuring of an environment in an optical scanner.
