The device (10) has a stamper (23) associated with a cutter (33) and a feed device for eggs (11) to be cut. The feed device is vertically aligned and arranged parallel to the cutter in a feed channel (27). The feed channel comprises a vertically extending recess (28) or aperture for receiving the eggs. The eggs are stacked one above the other in the recess and individually fed to the cutter. The cutter is removably secured at the feed channel. A hydraulic or pneumatic drive unit drives the stamper. The feed channel is formed with two channel portions (27a, 27b).
