The body has profile- and corrugated members (7) serving as crash elements and attached at a vehicle frame in a lower front wagon region (1) for degradation of crash energy. The members are integrated in longitudinal sides (5) of an engine underride protection unit in a lower base component (2), so that the lower base component fulfills function of the engine underride protection unit and the profile- and corrugated members. The lower base component is designed as a plate-type surface component and plastic injection molded part, and the profile- and corrugated members are opened downward.
