The method involves detecting bi-phase modulated radar echo signals using one-bit analog/digital transformation such that the signals are sampled in time variation around given sampling instants and/or the one-bit analog/digital transformation is subjected to time variation based on decision threshold. A digitized transducer data is correlated with a code (C(N-1) to C(0)) through equivalence comparison for obtaining equivalence points and summing the equivalence points, where the signals are bi-phased modulated using the code. An independent claim is also included for a device for receiving and evaluating bi-phase modulated radar echo signals by pulse compression comprising an analog/digital converter.
