The system has a server i.e. webserver (1), and a set of clients (2, 3) e.g. personal computer, communicating with one another over a communication network (4), where data files are transferred from one of the clients to the server and from the server to one of the remaining clients. The client or the set of clients to which the data files to be transferred are sent, is randomly selected by a random generator. Authentication of each client with the server takes place via an authentication function. The server comprises a database (13) with user data and incorporates a platform. An independent claim is also included for a client application program for a data transmission system, comprising a set of instructions for transmission of data.
