The method involves activating group-specific function profile for adjusting parameters of vehicle function of a specific functional area by using a display and control unit (2), where a group-specific function profile is selected by using a selection element i.e. touchscreen. A supplementary group-specific function profile is activated for adjusting parameters of another vehicle function, where profile is assigned to the functional area of the vehicle. The parameters of two different vehicle functions of the two different functional areas are adjusted in an intrinsically safe manner. An independent claim is also included for a device for adjusting function parameter of a vehicle, comprising a control element.
