System for generating electricity from hydraulic power, has pumping device arranged within end area of supply section, and water catchment basin provided with overflow, where water flows back into water supply via overflow
The system has a supply line (16) arranged in a water supply (15) under a water surface (10). A turbine (27) is subjected with water for converting mechanical energy of flowing water into electricity. A pumping device (31) is arranged within an end area of a supply section that is passed into a water catchment basin (11). The pumping device pumps the water from the water catchment basin. A closure device (44) is provided in the pump device at an upstream end of a supply path. The basin comprises an overflow (21a) via which the water flows back into the water supply via the overflow. An independent claim is also included for a method for generating electricity from hydraulic power.
