Method for overlay representation of images captured by imaging device, involves computing quality function values for displacement vectors of captured images and selecting displacement vector using optimum value of quality function
The method involves receiving images (5,13) in infrared spectral region and images (6,14) in viewable spectral region from the scene (4). The portions (9,16) of the captured images are displaced in relation to each other for the overlay of the images (5,13) shifted with respect to images (6,14). The values of quality function for various repeated displacement vectors (17) of the captured images (6,14) are computed. The displacement vector is selected according to the optimum value of quality function to provide overlay of one image with respect to other image. An independent claim is included for imaging device.
