Assembly for eliminating ice formation on contact wires of e.g. train, has laser formed in defined working area, where energy acts upon freezing of wire in stand state and during drive state such that icing crystal structure is burst open
The assembly (1) has a pulsed infrared guiding and working laser (3) present in a housing (8) that is force-fittingly or form-fittingly installed on a roof of a towing vehicle. The laser is formed as a detection laser in a defined working area to detect a position of an icy contact wire (4) in a quadratic area parallel to a lower side of the contact wire. Side length of the quadratic area corresponds to width of current collectors (11). Energy acts upon freezing of the contact wire in a stand state and during a drive state such that a crystal structure of contact wire icing (9) is burst open. An independent claim is also included for a method for eliminating ice formation on contact wires.
