The device has a bridge (6) arranged at an end of a spring element (8) i.e. plate spring, and a pick-up unit (14) arranged between the bridge and the spring element for reducing vibrations of the bridge and the spring element. The plate spring exhibits thickness of 0.3 to 0.8 mm, and is supported below a string holder (4) by a supporting device (10). A string (2) transfers the vibrations to the spring element via the bridge. Another pick-up unit (18) is arranged below the spring element. An independent claim is also included for a musical instrument i.e. electrical guitar, comprising a string guide device.
