Wind turbine for use in e.g. electricity generation arrangement in land, has power converter and generator switching device that are controlled by generator controller and control electric current flowing through one of rotor winding sets
The turbine (37) has a generator controller (70) coupled with a generator (50) and electrically controlling the generator. The generator is designed as an asynchronous machine that includes stator winding sets (51) and a rotor winding sets (52) that are rotatable relative to the stator winding set. One of the stator winding sets and one of the rotor winding sets are coupled with a power converter (53) and a generator switching device that are controlled by the generator controller. The switching device and converter control electric current (I) flowing through one of the rotor winding sets. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an arrangement for generation of electricity (2) a method for controlling power of an electricity generation arrangement.
