Internal combustion engine operating method, involves stopping increase of controller-amplification factors when time control variable falls below threshold, and regularly calculating another time control variable
The method involves determining a trim control variable based on a proportional-controller component of a trim controller. Another trim control variable is determined based on an integral-controller component. The latter variable is compulsorily adjusted when the former variable exceeds a threshold. Controller-amplification factors of the latter variable are increased when the former variable falls below another threshold. The increase of the factors is stopped when former variable falls below a third threshold that is smaller than the thresholds. The latter variable is regularly calculated. An independent claim is also included for a device for operating an internal combustion engine.
