The method involves transmitting location information regarding a set of gas stations (A-D) to a computation module, and determining gas stations that form a tank corridor (1) based on fuel data, where data includes fuel amount, current fuel consumption, average fuel consumption, fuel type and/or a fuel tank volume. A tank request incorporating information about the fuel type, is transmitted from the module to the gas stations. A tank offer with fuel price of the fuel type is received from each gas station. The offers are compared and sorted. Tank recommendation is output based on the sorting. An independent claim is also included for a communication arrangement for executing a method for cost optimization during refueling processes of a motor vehicle.
