The bonnet (1) has engine components (3) arranged in an engine compartment (2). An air gap (4) is formed between a lower side of the bonnet and the components, where the lower side is turned toward the engine components. The gap is extended from a part of air flowing into the compartment. A laminar formed air guiding device (5) e.g. damming mat, is arranged on the lower side of the bonnet, and consists of a foam material. A cross-sectional profile of the gap is adjustable by specific formation of the air guiding device, where the gap leads to a set pressure acting on the bonnet.
