Method for operating error display device in motor vehicle, involves setting latch during occurrence of input signal for activating display unit, and resetting latch during occurrence of another input signal output by output of control unit
The method involves activating a display unit (2) by a non-volatile latch (5) and by a control unit (4), and setting the latch during occurrence of an input signal for activating the display unit. The latch is reset during occurrence of another input signal output by an output (18) of the control unit. A signal is generated by a reset-module (13) or a watch-dog unit (14) for resetting an operating condition of the control unit. A switching device (6) is activated by the latch and by the control unit for activating the display unit. An independent claim is also included for a display device comprising a control unit.
