The hand tool has a striking mechanism (1), a tool holder formed to adjust a tool in separate manner, a striker (12) and a hammer (10). The hand tool is designed to guide a part of an impact energy of the hammer into an unmovable part of the hand tool, particularly a guide pipe (18) in idle speed. The hand tool is formed further to guide another part of the impact energy, particularly the residual part, to the discharging of the impact energy in the unmovable part, particularly the guide pipe through a spring element in time delayed manner. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a striking mechanism of a hand tool.
