The latching element exhibits a dome section (4a) that passes through the opening in the base support. The dome section exhibits a longitudinal hole (4e), and the locking element is designed as a strut element (6) that is mounted in the longitudinal hole. The locking element comprises a latching pin (6) that is connected with the latching element. An independent claim is also included for a method for releasable connection of a body trim with a base support of a motor vehicle.
