Method for synthesizing sound of e.g. musical instrument, based on frequency modulation based synthesis-algorithm, involves selecting values for parameter of synthesis-algorithm, where algorithm is adjusted by selected values for parameter
The method involves analyzing sound to be synthesized by a predetermined analyzing process to obtain an analysis result for the sound to be synthesized. The obtained analysis result is compared with the predetermined analysis result. Values for parameter of a frequency modulation based synthesis-algorithm (100) are selected for synthesis of the sound based on the synthesis-algorithm and comparison result. The synthesis-algorithm is adjusted by the values for the parameter, and a quadratic deviation of the obtained analysis result is determined by cross-correlation of the analysis result. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program with a program code for executing a method for synthesizing sound based on a synthesis-algorithm (2) a computer program product with a program code stored on a machine-readable medium for executing a method for synthesizing a sound based on a synthesis-algorithm (3) a digital storage medium with a controlled signal for synthesizing sound (4) a device for synthesizing sound based on a synthesis-algorithm.
