A method for increasing the corrosion resistance of nitrocarburized or nitrocarburized and oxidized surfaces of which is made of steel, components (2), characterized by the following process steps– Withdrawal of water from the surfaces of the components (2) in a vacuum at temperatures of greater than or equal to 25°C,– subsequent application of corrosion inhibitor (14) on the surfaces of the components (2) to their sealing.
