A method for the evaluation of data, which by means of the magnet resonance art are generated and spectroscopic information, comprising the steps of:– Detecting at least two resonance lines of a spectrum of the data,– Comparing the detected resonance lines with the relative position, the the detected resonance lines within the spectrum with respect to one another, with resonance lines a known substances, for comparing the detected resonance lines with the relative position along a frequency axis of the spectrum against the resonance lines known substances to be displaced, and– Assigning known substances to the detected resonance lines in the case of agreement of comparing, wherein the assigning according to a state of the displacement takes place which, in terms of overlapping and number of resonance lines between the detected resonance lines and the resonance lines of known substances obtained a maximum.
